Vera joined Corpus Studios as a newly certified Pilates Comprehensive Studio instructor. A lifelong mover herself, from gymnastics and swimming as a child to yoga and strength training as an adult, she ended up discovering Pilates not through fitness, but as a patient who experienced its benefits and power firsthand.
In 2020, following surgery for a herniated cervical disc, she chose Pilates over more conventional recovery methods. This experience changed everything, deepening her conviction in what mindful movement can do for the body.
For Vera, Pilates is a complete system that organises the body from the inside out, restoring physical vitality and re-energising the mind and spirit. It doesn’t end when you roll up your mat. The awareness, alignment and control you develop in practice carry naturally into everything else: the way you sit at your desk, the way you carry your bag, the way you walk into a room. Pilates becomes less of an exercise routine and more of a way of living in your body.
Before stepping into the studio, Vera spent over a decade as a UX designer, understanding how people move through systems, where they get stuck, and how to meet them where they are. In practice, that same instinct translates directly: observing and identifying what a client needs and designing each session around the person in front of her.
Vera teaches in English and Portuguese, with French on the way.
