John Cotton
Kelly is an enthusiastic mover, instructor, and clinician with extensive academic and practical experience. Growing up in Vancouver, British Columbia, she engaged in various outdoor activities, including figure skating, skiing, cycling, running, and team sports. In her late teens, she discovered modern dance and choreography, which inspired her creative pursuits.
After an illustrious career in dance and physical theatre, Kelly spent five years at the École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque in Belgium as head of the dance department, while simultaneously founding Corpus Studios™, serving as a master instructor for Peak Pilates, and establishing a Corpus Pilates Instructor Education program. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, a minor in Economics, and studied kinesiology at Simon Fraser University. Additionally, she is an osteopath with studies at institutions in England and Belgium, with her dissertation focusing on hypermobility.
Her extensive education includes participation in cadaver dissections at the University of St Andrews with Gil Hedley and Julian Baker, as well as courses in athletic performance, EXOS, Stuart McGill’s BackFitPro foundation, functional anatomy, and kinesiology. Kelly specializes in Pilates, Gyrotonic®, and athletic coaching, and she conducts workshops on various topics.
Kelly believes in the power of education through preventive medicine and dynamic action for a robust immune system and mental well-being. Her expertise encompasses musculoskeletal issues, joint disorders related to scoliosis, back and shoulder problems, hypermobility disorders, and the effects of aging.
